Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

YEAH!

First of all, I would like to thank you for all those (unitl now) 672 page views and the 4,494 times that my works were viewed in just one week! My main account doesn't have the same popularity, but its the life

If you have free time, check it out...I know to do more things than brushes

Second, this year started in a very weird way, like I (as we say here) had thrown a stone into the Cross (or better, had pissed on it), but I will turn a big F*CK for those things, because I do the things on my way. Screw you false friends (you know who are you).

Third, something that I HATE too much is the lack o re that my work (on the real life) have. Its just ridiculous when you put all of your effort on a piece, a lot of people like your work but...well, its better no to talk this here, since the walls have ears (or better, eyes).

And the last one: "ne sutor ultra crepidam / "Let the shoemaker venture no further." (Apelles)- NÃO VÁ O SAPATEIRO ALÉM DO SAPATO

Sorry if I'm too hostile, but I'm very pissed off after had walked 12km (7.4 miles) on foot under a HEAVY RAIN.

All brushes were made by me (Douglas Baldan) with Adobe Photoshop CS2 so THEY MAY NOT WORK ON PREVIOUS VERSIONS.
